Sunny Martinez has had a passion for the performing arts since he was a wee one. His talent was first discovered when he started memorizing stories on tape word for word at the age of 10 and reciting them to several classrooms at his school, Douglas City Elementary.
He has since participated in several school and community theatrical presentations throughout Trinity and Shasta counties. He is currently based in Douglas City, California. Some of his recent theatrical highlights include Gibson (Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play), Basilius (Head Over Heels), understudying Cliff Bradshaw and Ernst Ludwig (Cabaret), and an appearance in Northstate Symphony’s production of “The Soldier’s Tale.”
He’s earned an AA-Transfer Degree for Theatre Arts at Shasta College, is currently studying for a BFA Musical Theatre major at Chico State University with minors in music and dance, and studied physical theatre at the Dell’Arte International Summer Intensive in Blue Lake, CA. He will eventually move to NYC to pursue Broadway. His other interests include instruments (piano and guitar), reading novels, researching musicals and plays, and dabbling in music composition, orchestration, and video editing.
